This, Too, Will Pass

I start with a mea culpa, or perhaps, more accurately an admission of weakness or temporary “failure”. I haven’t written a blog for nearly 8 months, and like most people have gone through a pretty tough time with the COVID-19 virus pandemic. I did enjoy the first few months of shutdowns, and having more time to myself but things became more difficult, especially when my mother died unexpectedly, and I couldn’t travel interstate to see her in intensive care and be with my family, and couldn’t attend her funeral.

Anyway, I am finally at the stage of considering returning to making regular blogs. I know that if I can assist even one other person, then it is worth doing, but…

One of the things that dissuaded me from doing further posts was a line in this poem, which is clearly not true: “this will be, little more than a footnote in history.” I could have changed this line in the way that I make other small edits to “my” poetry, but it felt important to own this line, even if it is or at least seems to be “wrong”.

So, it has taken a long time for me to get back to writing. Sorry, but maybe its relevant, today, Tuesday, 3rd November, even if it wasn’t written for the election in the D-USA (Dis-United States of America).

THIS, TOO, WILL PASS

In these dark times… Look for the tellers of Truth.

Be a Teller of Truth.

In these dark times… discern with your heart.

Do not give in to fear.

Be a bringer of Light and Love and Goodwill.

Little One, these things are sent to test us…

to strengthen us… to make us think…

and to learn Compassion.

Little One, do not give in to fear.

All will be well… One day all,

this will be, little more than a footnote in history.

In the meantime, take each day as it comes.

Have no expectations, except that there will be some frustrations,

and disruptions to your plans.

Some people will be badly effected.

Have compassion for these people.

Look out for these people, and for all the disadvantaged,

and for anyone, that you can help.

Do not stress… Do not worry…

Everything happens according to Divine will.

Everything happens as it is intended.

This is your time to shine…

Extend a helping hand to anyone you can.

Know that you cannot help everyone,

but even one person is enough.

Keep things in perspective… and, as far as possible,

keep in good humour.

Have faith and trust… for Itheshe is behind all things.

Nothing happens without God’s knowledge and blessing…

Even this…

Everything happens for a reason…

Even this…

This, too, will pass…

and, hopefully, we will come out of our crisis, stronger,

wiser, and more loving,

and kind.

God bless,

Alan

Going to Hell, on Earth

Don’t we live in exciting times?  There is so much going on it is exciting, and also a little scary.  The good news of course, is that all this craziness, gives us all wonderful and very powerful opportunities for our spiritual growth, if we are brave enough to stand up for our principles, and to care for others, and ourselves in the face of the Donald Trumps and the brutal, authoritarian regimes, of this world.

For a change of pace from my recent postings, I am putting forward a poem that was written this week.  These “exciting times” need our attention, and the world needs us to step forward to share our Love and compassion.

The title of this poem suggests both the current challenges in our world, and the spiritual  opportunities, expressed partly in a religious framework.  Please don’t let that put you off.

Next time, I will publish the second poem that I wrote on that same day, which I feel is one of the most powerful, and moving that I/we have written.

It is time to step forward, and to support the world in its transformation.

In Love and light,

Alan

GOING TO HELL ON EARTH

How brave are these Hong Kongers…

fighting for their freedom?

Very brave, and they are fighting for their way of life.

I can’t speak for them, but it seems they think that their life,

is going to Hell… on Earth,

as they fight blind obedience, uncompromising discipline,

and restrictions on their expression.

The world of “1984” is late in coming,

but it is certainly on its way.

The hundreds of thousands of Uighar in their “re-education” prison camps,

would almost agree, except for them Hell is already here.

What is “Hell”?

Hell is being afraid to be the person that you really are.

Hell is being forced to go through the motions in life.

Life is precious…  Don’t waste it.

If you want to wear something “groovy”,

something that makes you feel good, then wear it.

If you want to do something to express your positivity,

and creativity, then do it…

unless, it hurts others…

for, as the Master, Jesus, said:

“Do unto others as you would have them do unto you”.

Today, we are living 50 years after Woodstock,

with all its wild excesses, and its crazy, impetuous idealism,

and the forces of Darkness are fighting back hard.

The “forces of darkness”, the forces of “evil”…

what are they?

Evil is “live”, reversed… and anything,

that does not express your inner, true self…

is evil.

Be true…  Try to always tell the truth.

Even when “telling the truth” is hard…

always leaven your words with Love.

Do not be blunt and uncaring, and try to speak from your heart,

for, when you speak from your heart,

you are closer, much closer,

to living in your heart.

So, what am I saying?…

Hell is here now.

It exists when we let the suffering of others to continue,

to not be remedied.

It exists when we are doing things we despise,

because of “our” “needs”, or “obligations”.

It exists… because we allow it.

Stop supporting evil…  Instead, promote Life.

Instead of living in your Hell… live in a world of Love.

This can only happen when you live in a world of Truthfulness…

when you live in and through your heart…

when you live in a world of Love.

It is time, little one ( / Little One)

Make it so…

Bring Heaven to our planet…

Now… and always.

In Love and Light,

Alan

Living Consciously, Now

In the moment there is great serendipity.  I didn’t bring “the right” USB stick to the library today, so the poem that I planned to post will have to wait till next time. Fortunately, I have another option, which is this poem written in 2005.

I will point out that I have used, the expression “whole-ly”, because I wanted to express a different meaning than the word “wholly” (or “wholely”) generally convey.  By “whole-ly” I am trying to express the idea of living in a whole manner, with profound connectedness and oneness.

But, let’s move on to more important things, the challenge and the blessings of “Living Consciously, Now”.  Till next time, create well my friends.

In Love and Light,

Alan

Living Consciously, Now

My story is a fresh unmarked page.

Each day is its own journey.

Each day is a fresh start…  I can do anything I want.

I want to explore life in all its positive facets.

I have experienced enough of the darkness…

with its hurt… its depression…  and its despair…

to know how to relate to others in their blackness.

I wish to cast a light, to help them find a way back

to their own source of illumination…

to their own inner wisdom, and inner power.

To their own peace… that comes from loving self…

and loving all that is.

I choose to see the world, in all its richness.

I want to explore… to embrace… and to heal.

I want to be me…  fully…  whole-ly…  and holily.

I want it all.  I want fun, and humour,

and love…  and laughter.

I want joy… and the satisfaction of creating,

with the powers I have been granted.

I want enlightenment…

and I want to be lighter…

I surrender my burdens…

I carry with me only the truth of who I am…

and the blessings that come from this awareness.

I am me.  I am who I am.

I love me for the Divine shines in me.

I am not perfect, but my perfection sparkles through all of its flaws.

This is Today.  Do not turn the page,

for I have not finished with now.

Forget Tomorrow… that will be a new dream.

Today is here… now…

and so, finally… at long, long last… am I.

Here, fully… totally… and at peace.

All is well… and all is just how it is meant to be.

Blessings to you all.

Good Friday: A Good Day to Die?

I want to share with you some thoughts on the state of our world and the arrival of Good Friday.

I’ve heard that the people of the world have pledged to fund the enormous cost (one billion euro?) of the restoration of an amazing cultural icon, q.v. the Notre-Dame Cathedral.  This is extremely generous and it reflects the desire of many people to act in difficult times, and to contribute to fixing the problems of our world. This desire, especially is to be commended, and I certainly, encourage people to do good whenever they can.

But… we are just dealing with material goods, however significant culturally, historically and psychologically.

Where is the same urgency and desire to help the peoples of the world who are suffering and dying each day?

The following poem was written on Good Friday in 2016.

IT’S GOOD FRIDAY, A GOOD DIE TO DIE

“Eat drink and be merry for tomorrow we die”

is a saying. I’m not sure where it comes from.                     [cf Is: 22:13, Ec: 8,15, Lk:12:19]

Around the world there are millions of people, who have nothing to eat,

except perhaps grass or leaves.

Around the world there are millions of people with nothing to drink,

except dirty water, contaminated with dead animals and dung.

Around the world there are millions of people,

without hope… without shelter…

without anything to celebrate.

And here in comfort we complain about our suffering.

We complain because someone didn’t smile at us,

when they served us food in a restaurant,

and the service was “slow”.

We complain because the train was 20 minutes late.

We complain because there are no good shows on the TV.

We complain because we have it so good,

that there is almost nothing to complain about.

Isn’t time to change?

Isn’t time to remember just how well off we really are?

Isn’t time to change our thinking and to appreciate… how well off we really are?

I will be grateful for the room over my head.

I will be grateful for the abundance of food I have,

even if the things that are “out of season”,

and once would never have been available at all,

are a little “pricey”.

I will remember those billions of people

who are so much worse off than me,

and I will be generous.

I will not lose my desire to help just because there are so many…

in great need.

I will help those I can

and be grateful to do my little bit….

Because my little bit and your little bit,

combined with his little bit… and hers…

and hers, and theirs, and theirs…

start to mount up… quickly.

I can make a difference by being true to myself…

by being true to my compassionate,

empathetic, caring nature.

I will not lose my perspective.

I will do my little bit…

and know that my little bit

is part of a larger, communal response

to the problems of this world…

and I am doing my bit…

to change the world.

I will remember that I am connected to all beings

and to Gaia, our Earth.

My compassion… my good deeds…

flow outwards to those in need.

All of us are in need.

That is why we are on the Earth at this time.

We are here to learn to be compassionate, loving souls.

We are here to learn to be “p.u.r.e.”:

Peaceful, Understanding, Respectful, Empathetic souls.

We are all in the same boat.

Our boat is slowly sinking,

but there is still time to change.

I will help you, as I am sure, you will help me.

I will help you because I am me…

I am human…

I am compassionate… I care.

Divine Spirit,

Help me to be me…

as I truly am.

Help me to be grateful for all the things I have.

Help me to be compassionate to those in greater need.

I ask for the strength and the courage

to take risks, to stand up for my principles,

by giving to others in need…

by opening my heart…

and by letting go of my comfort…

and my fear.

Help me divine spirit to “let go and let God”,

in all things.

These things I pray by,

and in the name of Love.

Amen.

Thank you Itheshe.

Thank you.

God bless.

Happy Easter to everyone of all races and creeds.

May your chocolate Easter eggs not melt, and more importantly,

may your drinking water be clean.

A Difficult, Painful Birth

Although the coming of a New Age has been spoken of since the 1960’s it has taken a lot time to arrive.  However, just as a birth is generally heralded by pain and discomfort, the current turbulence and disruption of our times are reflections of a new beginning.

The tumult and travail are not warnings of the end of times, as Revelation would suggest, but of the long-anticipated, dawning of our new Golden Age.  It is up to all of us to make this happen.

Dream and create our better world now.

God bless,

Alan

A Difficult, Painful Birth

“Why” is the best question you can ask,

for its answers always take you to new levels of meaning.

“Why am I here?” is probably the most important question

you can ask, for it is the most profound.

So why have you chosen to be on the Earth at this time?

It is not an easy time for the whole world is, it seems, in upheaval.

There is violence, and intolerance,

and bigotry in a wide variety of forms.

These things are not new, but this is a critical time,

because it is a catalyst to bringing forth,

the world of Peace and Love, that we desire.

Lessons are not easily learned till we have direct experience,

of the ill-effects of “wrong” action.

God so loved the world that… Itheshe made it a paradise…

made it perfect for our needs,

and our learning.

Now is the time to act decisively to protect this planet,

from pollution, desecration,

and from rapid climate change.

There is the promise of a bright future,

filled with Light, and Love, and plenty,

but we must bring it into being.

We are midwives helping our planet

through a difficult, painful birth.

But from this pain, and suffering,

comes understanding and appreciation,

for the miraculous world that is ours.

It is not a world for rapacious exploitation…

It is, instead, a world for rapturous exploration…

So wonder at the miracles of life,

in this tiny segment, of our marvellous, cosmic… Universe.

So be it.

[This poem was written/scribed in 2016. I have struggled to find the right inspiration to select a poem for this latest blog, until I felt drawn to this one.  This was a little surprising as it seemed to end abruptly, and in posting it I have had to do some re-writing.

Let’s however keep things in perspective, as we are living in a world where Donald Trump can be talked about as deserving to win the Nobel Peace Prize.

This shows how true it is that God/ the Cosmos / Itheshe has a sense of humour, and how urgent it is for us all to be centred, to be strong, and to act according to our beliefs and our wisdom, with compassion and Love.]

Spirituality and Religion

The following poem was written in 2008.  I am surprised that I haven’t already posted this poem, although some of its references are now perhaps a little dated.

It remains perhaps the greatest challenge for many, and perhaps most humans, especially in so-called “developed” societies, to get out of their heads, and live by and through their hearts.

Good luck to you all with meeting this challenge.

Best wishes,

Alan

SPIRITUALITY AND RELIGION

Your journey is spiritual.

This is your purpose for being on the Earth, at this time.

This spiritual purpose has nothing to do with religion,

and nothing to do with belief.

Religion is a series of beliefs.

Religion comes from and exists in the mind…

the human mind.  The limited human mind.

Spirituality comes from and is… a connection to God…

to the Divine Source.

Spirituality comes from and dwells in the heart.

Spirituality belongs to the Divine mind,

that connects everything.

Spirituality and religion are not quite chalk and cheese.

Religion brings division, and spirituality ease.

Religion can be a path through life.

After all, there are many paths to God…

for God is everywhere.

Religion can bring joy… purpose…

and even happiness, but it has absolutely nothing to do with spirituality.

These things are on completely different planes.

So many wars have been fought in the name of religion.

Why is this?

If I believe that I know all the answers,

and that those who disagree with me are wrong…

then I am not being spiritual,

and, in fact, I do not have the answers.

Spirituality is a connectedness to God.

Spirituality is a connectedness to all creation…

to the Earth… to all beings, human and non-human.

Spirituality is marked by compassion for all…

Spirituality acknowledges the divinity of all things.

Every being is divine…

Even you…

Even me…

Even Charles Manson…

Even Adolf Hitler…

Even Osama Bin Laden…

Even your own worst enemy…

Especially your own worst enemy.

Try to see things differently.

Try to see all things, all difficulties,

all challenges as coming from God.

Try to look on all beings with compassion…

and acceptance… and even Love.

For Love is unconditional…

which means you cannot love one being,

if you do not love all beings…

Think about that…

and I will return to talk again

about Spirituality and the all…

God Bless.

Transformation

The following poem is a little rough around the edges, and will need to be re-edited  before it is included in my book when that finally is actualized.  Still, I feel it is appropriate to publish this now, as it is an important topic.  This poem was originally written in 2011.

I hope you enjoy it, or find it useful.

TRANSFORMATION

A new beginning.  How I’ve wanted that.

But I can only start from where I am.

I cannot wish myself to magically be somewhere else,

or to be someone else.

This is not to say that there is not magic

and deep, sudden transformation.

But I can only do this by being me…

now… here…

fully… in this moment.

Transformation comes through intention… and awareness…

To change consciously, I must know who and what I am.

Transformation comes from following my heart,

for this is the seat of love.

It comes from letting go of the trivialities

that distract me in my daily life.

Transformation comes from thankfulness,

and appreciation of the things that surround me.

It needs me to sense the Divine order that places each being,

and each thing, exactly where it needs to be.

I know I cannot find fulfilment when I seek things outside myself,

for then I am separate from the Universe……. and from God.

Fulfilment… and peace come from stillness…

and from connection…

and from God.

I am always only a step away from this connection,

but until now I have not chosen connection…

and appreciation.

I have not been looking in the right place.

It is said: “Seek and ye shall find”:                                                                            (Matthew 7:7)

but, I will only find peace,

when I value “appreciation”  and “connection”,

and the inherent value of each and every soul.

Outwardly I walk a different path to you,

and yet, all roads lead to Home.

And, the real truth is that I am always “home”.

All I need do is to be still and embrace the peace…..

and the Divine love…. that is within.

Feel the peace… Be the peace… and love…

Remember this.  Practise this.

And all will be well.

Go in peace…  Be peace…

Blessings be to you.

With all my love…

Alan

Build and Not Tear Down

The challenge at the moment is to remain positive in the face of the world’s craziness.  And while it is important to stand up against the wrongs that are being perpetrated by so many of our misguided leaders who are too busy playing politics to really work on the things that really matter, it is important to create positively.

According to Isaac Newton and his “Third Law of Motion”: “For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction”.  It is not surprising then that the most effective means of producing positive change is not to oppose another force head-on but to work to turn that force’s motion in a more favourable direction.  For example, even the National Rifle Association in the USA is open to banning the “bump” devices which turn semi-automatic weapons into effectively fully automatic weapons.

It is important to support and acknowledge any positive steps by own opponents however small.  It is important to maintain a working dialogue with all people if at all possible, for this makes future changes a little more possible.

The following poem was written by me six months ago.  Despite my familiarity with the expression “little one” I am still a little uncomfortable with this wording. Sometimes, particularly when capitalized (q.v. Little One), this term is directed towards me, and sometimes it is directed to all souls living at this time on the Earth.

I hope you find this poem helpful in some way.  And it is a “real” poem, almost, this time as it mostly rhymes.  I don’t know that the rhyming is as powerful as when the words flow from the heart almost indiscriminately, but its useful to explore other means of expression.  Enjoy.

Build and Not Tear Down

Find what is true and let everything else go.

You can do this for you already know,

which things are important, and which things are not…

so let go of the non-essentials, and live the life you could.

Let go of all the niceties, and obligations, and all the things you “should”.

Let go of the people, all those who waste your time,

with their gossip, and negativity, for your strength they undermine.

Let go of those “too serious” and all the “drama-queens”,

who like nothing better than a “war”, or “villains” and “victims”,

or any kind of scene.

Let go.  Let go.  Let go,

and let God be your guiding light.

Turn round.  Turn round,

and follow the path that is clearly in your sight.

Follow Truth, Love and Kindness, and let your flag unfurl,

as you step up… step forward…

to build a better world.

Let us march together, arm in arm, and hand in hand.

Let us cultivate the numbers of this ever-growing band,

of people who want to build and not tear down,

So build and create, all the good things in life…

and if we build together, and make each other stronger,

we will put an end to strife.

God bless all you fellows, who are seeking to end war.

God bless all you workers, who are seeking to restore,

the world of God’s creation, that we call Paradise…

and soon it will be here…

if we keep building on our building, and keep loving in our hearts…

and soon this new beginning will be a perfect start…

So little one, keep building…

Keep loving…

and keep growing…

in Love and Light and Truthfulness.

God bless,

Alan

A Flower in God’s Garden

Greetings and good wishes to all.

I’ve been revising some old poems recently and transcribing them to my computer recently, and I came across this poem from 2010.  I find that it still speaks to me and I hope it does to you as well.

I will have to leave my preamble short today as I’ve had to use one of my local library’s computers, as mine is not working. Now I’m coming towards the end of my session, so I’ll go straight into the poem.

A Flower in God’s Garden

I am a flower… made by God.

I am a beautiful soul, that is a part of God’s garden.

Sometimes it seems I am surrounded by weeds…

but there are no weeds in God’s garden.

For all beings are beautiful flowers.

It is true that some of these flowers, need pruning…

and/or support…  to reach their full potential….

and to show their full, Divine glory.

Most of the flowers need fertiliser to help them grow…

All of them need water… and tending by a Divine hand.

Be a flower, little one….

Be delicate, and graceful, and open to the world.

Be a flower, little one…  be beautiful…

and give to the world your true self… and your honey.

Let your words… and your thoughts… be nectar,

to sustain the world…

and to manifest a new Eden…

which is the Earth… as it truly is….

full of beauty…  full of Love…. full of peace.

Be a flower, little one….

Don’t worry if there are stronger, or taller,

or more beautiful flowers around you.

You are beautiful, as you are.

Keep yourself in good condition.  Look after all your needs.

Eat healthily, and in moderation.

Drink plenty of water, and be careful about what you consume.

Cultivate your thoughts… and discipline your actions…

to bring to the fore, your true beauty.

Be a gardener of your soul… and be a guardian of…

and advocate for, the Earth.

It is time for you to be a flower… not just a bud, of Divine potential.

Open up…                           Take a deep breath….

and just be… a flower.

Be a flower, in God’s garden…

for that is enough.

God bless.

Best wishes to all.  Stay strong, keep the faith, and help create a better world.

In love and light,

Alan

Life Lived in a Blur

I must apologize once again for my neglect of “duties”.  I have been spending a reasonable amount of time putting my longhand writings onto my computer, but that is no excuse for neglecting my “legion”of readers.

Seriously though I have dropped the ball here and I now understand the reason the message from an oracle card I drew yesterday, which told me to write.  I’ve been doing my poetry, but not giving due attention to my blog.  I shall try to do better in future.

This morning, I transcribed and rewrote a poem from 2010, which I would love to share with you now.

Life Lived as a Blur

Rush. Rush Rush.

Why is everyone in such a hurry?

We are always in a rush, trying to cram too many things into our lives.

We want more and more…

and our lives become full…

of emptiness.

The experiences that we have are shallow.

We allow an hour to visit a gallery… when we need a day.

We decide to go the football, and we rush…

driving too quickly in the traffic…

so we can gobble down some “food” from the take-away shop…

eating the rest of our chips as we leave.

Why do we do this?…

Little of this is satisfying…

Little of this is relaxing, or peaceful…

or “quality time”.

Life on the go… is life, lived in a blur.

The things around us flash past without definition,

and with limited comprehension or acknowledgement.

It is like travelling on a train at high speed.

While the things a long way away can be seen with some clarity,

the poles and signals just outside the window,

are glimpsed, and just as quickly… “gone”.

When we rush we usually breath shallowly.

We are stressed, and unable to fill our lungs…

We cannot take in the nourishment, that is in the air.

When we rush we tend to take large bites when we eat,

and swallow food that is not properly chewed.

We find it hard to digest our meals…

and impossible to receive full nourishment.

When we rush we do not have time for our children.

We do not have time to answer their questions…

to reassure their anxieties…

Let alone have time, to just sit, and watch them grow.

Is this how you want to live your life?

Is this how you want to raise your children?

Take some time…. Today!…

just to catch your breath… just to take stock of your life.

What is it that you really want?

What do you really need?

What can you give up, and never miss?

What will make your life… and the lives of your family, better?

Take some time to de-stress… every day.

Learn to meditate… and to listen to your higher wisdom.

Remember to make a point of checking your breathing…

and when you need to…

take some deep breaths…

Fill… your… lungs…

and r… e… l… a… x…

When you breath out.

let go… of your tension.

Take some time… to do the things that are truly important.

When at all possible, sit down with your family, when you eat your meals.

Sit down at a table and talk… about what’s going on in your lives…

about the little things… and the big things…

for all are important.

Put aside time… regularly…

for your needs…. as your happiness….

effects everyone … around you.

In summary:

Don’t try and do too much.

Don’t bother with things that are not important.

Don’t worry about things… it is people, that are important.

Be open to giving everyone your love… and your wisdom…

But, you can only do this if you take the time…

and give your attention… and your intention

to creating the s p a c e in your life…

to be in touch… and in tune…

with these parts….

of you.

Stop… Listen… Learn…

Speak from your heart…

and share… and teach…

and spread… your love.

And one final thing…. Have fun!!! along the way.

God bless.

Travel well upon on your individual journeys, my friends.  In the moment there is only peace and love and well-being.

Namaste

Alan
